Zeiss Ikon IKONTA 520

A truly beautiful solidly built camera

A beautiful little pre-war camera (circa 1934), and i do mean little. I can hide it behind my hand. A simple pop-up window is used to frame your subject and there is no release button on the body. A cable must be used, unless you have nimbles fingers and can get to the shutter release on the lens assembly. It takes 6x4,5 format film, good for 16 exposures. The lens is an uncoated Tessar 4.5ƒ, 7,5cm lens. Shutter is Compur Rapid, with a max. speed of 1/300s. You can see a picture here.



Ikonta 520, pre-war beauty. Second photo from top shows absence of sliding window for film advance. I did use it with color film though and got good results.
